This congregation believes and teaches that the Bible is the inspired Word
of God, and is an all-sufficient rule of faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
Therefore, we accept as true the miracles of the Bible, including the virgin
birth and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
This congregation accepts and teaches the simple New Testament plan of
salvation:
Hearing the Gospel of Christ (Romans 10:14)
Believing the Gospel (Mark 16:16; Acts 2:37)
In faith, repenting of sin (Acts 2:38; 17:30)
Confessing Jesus as Lord and Savior (Luke 12:8; Romans 10:10)
Baptism by immersion (Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; 1 Peter 3:21)
This congregation assembles for worship on the first day of the week,
making the observance of the Lord’s Supper a focal point in each worship
service (Acts 20:7).
This congregation seeks the unity of all believers as Christ prayed for it
(John 17:20-21) – a unity obtainable only when we unite on the authority of
the Scriptures.
Church membership at Mahomet Christian Church is extended to any
believer who has been immersed for baptism and desires to become a
member of the church.
